Garrett joined Waller Capital in 1998 and became a Partner in 2005. He initiates and leads M&A transactions for cable and wireless clients, both in the US and in Latin America.
Recent transactions include representing: Grande Communications on its sale to ABRY Partners; WideOpenWest on its sale to Avista Capital; Time Warner Cable on its non-core divestiture to Windjammer Communications; Centennial Dominicana on its sale to Trilogy International; Everest Broadband on its sale to SureWest; Choice Cable on its sale to Spectrum Equity / Patriot Media; New Wave on its acquisition of non-strategic assets from Charter Communications; The Blackstone Group on the sale of Sigecom; JetBroadband on the acquisition of Suddenlink's Virginia assets; NY3G on its sale to Sprint Nextel; Providence Equity on the sale of Northland Cable Networks to Metrocast/Harron; Clearview Cable in its sale to Armstrong Utilities; Alameda Telecom on its sale to Comcast; RFB Cellular on its restructuring and subsequent divestitures to Metro PCS, Dobson, Leap and Verizon.
In 2007, Garrett was named by Multichannel News as one of the “40 Under 40” top executives in the cable industry. He is a frequent speaker on the cable and telecom sectors, and has also served as an expert witness regarding telecom valuations on several occasions, including in US Federal Court.
Prior to Waller, Garrett was an investment banker at Bear Stearns, where he focused on M&A, High Yield and Restructuring transactions. During his career, he has completed over 50 transactions valued at over $12.0Bn. Garrett graduated with honors from Wake Forest University with a BS in Analytical Finance.
